08.23.08 - 16th Annual March of Dimes Mud Volleyball Challenge
Join The March of Dimes for the 16th Annual Mud Volleyball Tournament on Saturday, August 23rd. The tournament is a day full of mudslinging fun. The March of Dimes Mud Volleyball Challenge is the largest on the East Coast. In 2007 the tournament raised over $181,000 with over 1,500 participants with one goal: to raise money to save babies. People from all over Central Florida, gather to play volleyball and get dirty for an extraordinary cause: to save babies with the March of Dimes! You don’t need to be an expert volleyball player to participate in Mud Volleyball. Registration begins at 8:00 AM Lee Vista Center, near the Orlando International Airport. The Mud Volleyball Challenge raises money to support the March of Dimes fight to save babies. Team registration is $400.00 (after August 1st is $450.00). Teams must raise a minimum of $1500.00 to experience all of the perks that come along with having “Club Mud” status! “Club Mud” incentives include free drinks, food, event t-shirts, freebies, shade, exclusive private restrooms, Mud Servants, and much more!! REMEMBER: Your registration Fee DOES NOT count towards Club Mud! Only funds raised in your envelope count towards Club Mud.

The Dwight Howard Basketball Camp is open to all basketball players ages 7-18, focusing on fundamental basketball skills. The basketball camp will happen August 30th and 31st at the RDV Sportsplex. The morning sessions start at 8:00 a.m. until 12:00p.m., the camp is open to Boys and Girls ages 7 to 11. The Afternoon Session begins at 1:00 p.m. until 5:00 p.m. and is open to Boys and Girls ages 12 to 18. The cost of the camp is $199. Each Camper Receives a Dwight Howard Basketball Camp T-Shirt, an Official Camp Basketball, an Autographed Camp Team Photo with Dwight, and 8 Hours of Expert Instruction.

Join MIX 105.1 for the Dick Batchelor Run for the Children, a 5K run/walk through downtown Orlando. The event, which takes place the weekend before Halloween, also hosts princesses, ghosts and superheroes dressed in costume for the Kids’ Fun Run. Race spectators, families and friends are encouraged to relax and enjoy the festival-style atmosphere with entertainment, refreshments and activities throughout the morning.
